Years ago I lived in a very nice live-work loft in Oakland — it really loved the large open space and tons of windows. It had huge walls — and so I made some artwork for them. Using my medium of skill, Photoshop, I created a whirl of color on a black background. And then another to match. Printing them out on 100 little letter-size sheets (each) I titled them together on huge pieces of foam-core, and hung them on the wall.

I got many compliments on them, and enjoyed looking at them. They have always reminded me of the photographs of atom smashing, with their intwined circular lines. When I moved out and into a relatively tiny apartment during the dot-com-boom I left them out on the street for free, and before five-minutes they were gone. I wonder where they have gone.

Well needing art for our home on Hayes Street, and remembering my fondness for these designs I searched out the files. It took forever to find them among my archives of data, in fact they were on an old OS 9 iMac. Once found I popped them into iPhoto and sent them out for photo-prints. A tad smaller than they had been, now 20″ by 30″. They’re now hanging in our parlor, I’m very much enjoying having them on display again.
