The real thing.

So the X-Prize in Seattle was cool — but the actual Space Ship One is now hanging in the Smithsonian — a tad cooler. Right between The Spirit of St. Louis and the X-1.

X-prize.

On a quick visit to Seattle I came across this award for going into space:

And these little models, of the ship that did:

Earth.

Just taking a moment to share this pretty view of Earth I found while playing with 3D Weather Globe and Atlas.

I was looking for the Saab factory, of course.

Return of the Art

Years ago I lived in a very nice live-work loft in Oakland — it really loved the large open space and tons of windows. It had huge walls — and so I made some artwork for them. Using my medium of skill, Photoshop, I created a whirl of color on a black background. And then [...]

A quick vacation.

This week Mark and I decided we couldn’t wait any longer for vacation. We had to take one now. We had to get away and do nothing, or nearly nothing, for at least a whole day. So we booked ourselves a yuppie tent on the Pacific Coast at Costanoa, quickly re-scheduled our work, and took [...]

Why all the blogs?

I’ve been asked a few times, “why so many blogs, why not just one?” as if having lots of blogs is lots of trouble.
I guess that’d just be too disorganized for me. I like my blogs to tell stories and I like them to have different personalities. So I have them for different parts of [...]

Logo maniac

I’ve rediscovered my passion for building thing out of little Danish blocks. Okay so currently I’m in the Star Wars phase, but I intend to go beyond it into crazy new places.

Part of the joy of logos — at lest when building from the pre-designed sets — are the complex kits. And when I learned [...]

Firefly returns.

Yes my favorite TV show is coming to the big screen. Joss Whedon’s sci-fi series is coming back in the feature film Serenity. And here’s the first broadsheet!

Interesting that River is so prominent — always suspected that her mysteriousness would be the central plot of the film. Opening September 30th.
